My Story
Jake Lappan leads Fireside Home Construction, Southeast Michigan's premier high-performance general contractor specializing in custom homes and remodeling. A 2003 graduate of the School of Architecture at the University of Michigan (Go Blue!), Jake became the owner and licensed builder for Fireside Home Construction in 2017. Even though he does not provide architectural design services, his 20-plus years of architectural design background and skills make him a valuable member of any project. Fluent in the language of architects and engineers, Jake ensures both the clients' and designers' goals and visions are captured.
Jake's approach thrives on transparent and open partnerships between architects, designers, homeowners, and the Fireside team, guaranteeing exceptional results from start to finish. As one of the few Certified Passive House Builders (CPHB) in Michigan, Jake leads in high-performance and sustainable building science, excelling in optimizing energy efficiency and sustainability.
